Our Universal Guide To The Studios!
Discover Universal Studios with our own personal Universal guide to see how we have explored Universal over the years. Because our children are of different ages i.e. (ten years ago) 12, 10 and 3, we split into two groups, ‘Two way radios can be helpful here’. This was down to James our youngest, not being able to go onto the big rides due to age and height restriction etc. Therefore, if your children are very young check out our Universal guide and head towards ‘Woody Woodpeckers Kidzone’ because in the high season this becomes extremely busy. Come, visit ‘Barneys’, and enjoy this timeless children’s show. The kids will love ‘Fievel’s Playland’ and ‘Curious George’ and don’t forget ‘Animal Planet Live’ the animals are fantastic. Times for the shows will be displayed on your Universal guide park map.

Keep your camera close by as you will bump into a few characters along the way. “As you can see from the photo, James is a lot older here, but my darling wife insisted on the Scooby Doo picture, he wanted to go on the Back to the Future ride” something not right here?
Universal Guide Age 5 - 10
We would recommend you visit ‘Shrek 4D’ first as this does get extremely busy…this is a brilliant show, and with the 4D effects you will want to go back for more. Then if they are up for a bit of wind around the ankles and neck, hop over to ‘Twister’ (this can be scary for some children so be careful).Jimmy Neutron’s Nicktoon Blast and ex Nickelodeon Studios now 'The Blue Man Group' are a must visit.
Universal Guide Age 10 Upwards
For the 10’s upwards, if height restrictions are not a problem here in Universal Studios just go for it, here’s our list;
- Shrek 4D
- Twister
- Revenge of the Mummy
- MIB
- Back to the Future? (Fast and Furious, Simpson's)?
- Jaws
- E.T.
- Earthquake (Personally this should go instead of Back to the Future, still a good show with great special effects)
Don’t forget the other attractions…we class them as sit down shows i.e. ‘Terminator 2 3D’, ‘Fear Factor Live’ (not for the squeamish) these two alone can become very busy in the high season. ‘Beetlejuice’ and ‘The Blues Brothers’, make great toe tapping sing ‘a’ long venues, times displayed on your park map. ‘Universal Horror Make up Show’ is fun, again some young children may be scared, and for the nostalgic members in your group ‘The Lucy Ball Tribute’ show, the much loved American comedian from the 50’s and 60’s. Apart from our Universal guide what we find useful are the public discussion forums, where people who are going, or just been to Orlando can keep you up to date with what’s happening in or around the theme parks at Disney or Universal Studios. Here are a few forums that you may find helpful, pick a number and click away, we’ll still be here on your return 1, 2, 3, 4. ‘Oh nearly forgot, remember the Firework Displays in the evening over the lake’(Times change during the year)
