The 'Hottest' Theme Park here in Orlando!

universal-island-of-adventure-jarrasic-park-ride-orlandoWelcome... to our family adventures here at Universal's Island of Adventure Orlando Florida. Located right next door to Universal Studios and Universal CityWalk, this theme park we think gives Disney a disadvantage when it comes to thrills and fantastic rides!

Travel through six remarkable islands where all your favorite myths, legends, comic books, cartoon heroes and children's stories come to life.

Experience that rush of adventure, scream your head off, laugh and be amazed at how 'Universal' has put all of this together for you to share once-in-a-lifetime experiences and have a brilliant day out with family and friends.

We'll cover Universal Studios and Universal CityWalk on separate pages...Plus latest updates (2013) on the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Island of adventure Orlando.

unversal-island-of-adventure-entrance-orlando-floridaAfter leaving the car park area take the mobile walkways to Universal. You'll pass through 'CityWalk' which is pretty quiet in the mornings. Wait until you leave late afternoon and see how it comes to life with music, lights and that party atmosphere...We love it!

Turn left at the lake when the signs tell you, turn right and you will end up at Universal Studios. Look out for the light house --> as this is a great landmark.

Also try out The Eighth Voyage of Sinbad, this sea adventure show never fails to entertain Universal style.

Now, if you've been before this is where you will see the changes. What use to be The Flying Unicorn ride is now the entrance to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Hogwarts. The Duelling Dragons ride has now become The Dragon Challenge...So, if you still have the stomach for it, age limits & height restrictions still apply...Not for the squemish though!

  5. Jurassic Park:

  6. We always approach Jurassic Park from Toon Lagoon, after being soaked at Dudley-Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls. With those park gates towering over you and the unforgettable music playing in your ears, you know you are in for a great time.

jurassic-park-universal-studios-orlandoIn the high season, head straight to 'Jurassic River Adventure' if age and height restriction allows and don't forget your photo if your budget allows see top of page, its well worth it to look back on.

Cross the walk-way into Camp Jurassic, let the children explore this fun adventure land and ride on 'Pteranodon Flyers'. Expect long lines (queues) during peak times.

If you have entered from The Lost Continent we recommend you head straight to the 'Jurassic River Adventure' because this ride is one of the popular ones on the Island of Adventure, and up to 4hrs + waiting lines (queues) are a daily occurrence during the high season.

jurassic-park-universal-island-of-adventure-orlando-floridaDon't forget to visit Jurassic Park Discovery Centre which includes dining, refreshments, shops and restrooms (toilets) upstairs.

Downstairs, you will find laboratories, where real dinosaurs are hatched...honest an x-ray machine is used on rocks to discover hidden secrets from millions of years ago...great fun. Remember, You can enter the world of Harry Potter through Jurassic!

  7. Toon Lagoon:

  8. dudley-do-rights-ripsaw-falls-universal-ioa-orlandoFantastic fun with Betty Boop and the gang with Universals favourite cartoon characters, from 'Popeye & Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges, white water rapids of Dudley-Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls, this ride is fast at the end so hold on, you will get wet...we promise. 10. For the speed freaks and thrill seekers, this heart pumping part of the Island of Adventure is the place to be for fast rides and adventure and the most popular part of the Island. Therefore if you, your family, friends and relations live for the excitement, arrive here early to avoid the long lines (queues)...This place is buzzing in the high season!.

hulk-coaster-island-of-adventure-orlando-floridaWe always split up here...some go to the The Incredible Hulk Coaster, Storm Force Accelatron then Doctor Doom's Fearfall, the rest of us head towards the The Amazing Adventures of Spider-man. This with its special effects is a fantastic ride 3D style!

BEWARE!...people with back problems, the Spider-man ride can throw you around your seat, so take care.

Oh yes we nearly forgot, if any body wants the quiet life here on the Island of Adventure you can always hop onto the ferry and take a leisurely ride around the Lagoon. Also doubles up as the transport system back to all the Universal resorts.
