Arriving at Kennedy
What's great about Kennedy space center is no charges for the car parks and
Wheelchairs, Strollers and even Pet kennels are free.
Make your way to the main entrance where you can purchase your tickets. What we do
is head over to the bus terminal and board for the tour to the Apollo/Saturn V
Center, which gives you a guided tour on the way passing the assembly building
and Space shuttle areas.
Video screens on board the buses keep you informed about where you are during
your journey...Watch out for the eagle's nests and alligators on the way up to the
Center...remember you are in a nature reserve at the same time.
Once you arrive you will be ushered into a waiting area, and once the doors
open head inside. This will take you into the control room of the original moon
landing back in 1969, relive the moments when Neil Armstrong historically stepped
foot onto the moon for the first time.
After
this, if you've not been to Kennedy before the next sight to greet you when the doors
open will blow you away, a full scale Saturn V rocket is on display.
Above the rocket every Apollo flight badge is on display. Around the floor area are space
capsules, luner modules and the transport bus which was used to take the astronauts up to the
lauch pads.
A cafe is also situated hear, its quite expensive!
Excited yet...we could write pages and pages as we love every
thing about this place. However...here's the Kennedy space center
website, which we recommend you take a look at and discover what else is on offer
here at Cape Canaveral.
