PLEASURE ISLAND NIGHTCLUBS CLOSED

SEPTEMBER 28, 2008

It's sad times....After close to 20 years in operation, Disney's Pleasure Island is undergoing a major overhaul. They have closed the Adventurer's Club, Comedy Warehouse, 8 Traxx, Motion, Mannequins and BET Sound Stage. Restaurants/shops are planned. We will keep you updated via our RSS feed during this construction period. But for now please read on and feel the excitement of what use to be a fun night out. Downtown Disney Marketplace & Westside are still open. Also don't forget Universals CityWalk for a great night out

family-disney-pleasure-island-orlando-floridaFancy new years night every night here at Pleasure Island in Downtown Disney.

Dance the night away disco style, hip-hop, reggae, rock 'n' roll and popular music, which are all on offer in this very compact island getaway next to Disney's downtown market area.

Wine and dine in Pleasure Island at the popular Irish pub & restaurant Raglan Road, and afterwards pop into the Comedy Warehouse to laugh a couple of hours away before you boogie down to the night clubs.

If you fancy a 30's style evening, we have been told The Adventures Club is quite a good night of fun, split into four different rooms full of entertainment.

BUT…yes there is always a but, as from January 1st 2007 the age limit is 21 to enter all the night clubs in Pleasure Island, and both the Adventures Club and Comedy Warehouse, all under 18's must be with an adult.

This is a shame because as you can see from the photo above, our youngest son was with us at 8TRAX over the Christmas period and we had a great time.

So please remember this when you venture out with the under 18s in your family…personally this is where we think Universals CityWalk has the upper hand for all the family to enjoy around the Orlando area.

Welcome to Downtown
Disney
Pleasure Island

disney-pleasure-island-orlando-floridaTo help you explore Pleasure Island…here are a few useful tips you might find helpful to get a feel of the place before you arrive…especially if it's your first time.

The park is open all day as it includes a variety of shops for all you shop-a-holicks.

Our
Pleasure Island
Thoughts!

From our personal point of view we found the island very singles/couples orientated, which lets face it, is what Disney is looking for and what many couples are looking for to save the 10 mile drive up to Universals CityWalk venues…plus this keeps the Disney resort travellers within the Disney catchment area of Orlando.

BUT… here's that but again…even with small children you can always visit around the Island to other venues like Westside and the Downtown Disney Marketplace areas, which offer some fantastic entertainment.

In addition, not to far away…if you have transport, is Old Town Kissimmee which might suit your requirements.

den-pleasure-island-orlando-floridaSo if the island is what you are looking for then go for it and have a brilliant time.

Here's a word of warning from my dear wife… be careful in the toilet areas things come away in your hands…personally I blame the vodka!!!!

We will keep updating this page via our RSS feed regarding new additions, changes etc, so click onto the RSS feed above and follow the instructions to keep you on top off what’s happening in and around Orlando, including Pleasure Island.
