Gatorland Florida!
Orlando's #1 Snappy Attraction
So, you like alligators...well Gatorland Orlando is the place to visit. If you have half a day spare, get the family together and bring them down to the "The Best Half Day Attraction" in the area.
Although the park is open all day we have always found around 4hrs is enough, especially on hot days, that's why we visit in the mornings so the kids can chill out around the pool in the afternoon.
What's on offer?
Since the unfortunate fire in 2006 the park has under gone a large and
expensive upgrade. A new $4m open-air admission pavilion,
(retaining the famous gator-mouth entrance) has now opened,
together with new shops offering souvenirs and gifts.
Gatorland already offers Alligator Island - home to hundreds of gators - the Express Railroad, the Breeding Marsh & Bird Rookery, a Swamp Walk, and Flamingo Lagoon. Enter if you dare 'Jungle Crocs', home to some of the largest and most dangerous crocodiles on the planet!
Shiver your spine in the Snakes of Florida area, but if that is too much for your family, opt instead for cute and cuddly in Allie's Barnyard, home of the Dolly Llama, Gracie the Goat and Harley the macaw. In addition, there's family fun in the Gator Gully Splash Park.
You can always finish your visit with a spot of alligator wrestling, make sure you have your videos and cameras handy...personally those trainers need their heads tested...great fun!
