Enchanted Caribbean cruises with Disney Cruise Line!
'Ahoy there shipmates'... Join Captain Mickey and his scurvy crew (that's us--->) on our Disney cruise adventures.
Only 1 hour's drive from Orlando, step onboard the fantastic cruise ships 'Disney Magic' & 'Disney Wonder' and sail off into the Caribbean sunset.
You can choose from 3, 4 and 7 night cruises. Experience the legendary Disney cruise service and attention to detail...spectacular entertainment...cosy and spacious accommodation and superb onboard facilities. Take a quick tour below.
We decided to take a break from our Orlando villa in 2004, and decided on the 4 day cruise aboard the 'Disney Wonder' departing from Port Canaveral, which sailed us off to Nassau in the Bahamas and Walt Disney's paradise island 'Castaway Cay'.
We dinned in a different themed restaurant every night, then strolled the deck to watch those fantastic sunsets.
We were all spellbound during the fantastic incredible theatre shows on offer, and enjoyed the nightlife which was for all ages.
We took pleasure in sight seeing around Nassau, and the girls loved the duty free jewellery on offer...we then took a water taxi over to Paradise Island complex for lunch.
The third day was spent on Disney cruise lines own island 'Castaway Cay' which was full of activities like swimming, snorkelling, bike hire to explore the island and chilled out on the golden but extremely hot beaches.
As you can see from the photo below 'The Flying Dutchman', which was used in 'The Pirates of the Caribbean' films is now located on the island...sorry ladies no Johnny Depp.
We have found most families use Disney cruise lines to include a two location holiday or vacation i.e. 3, 4, or 7 day cruise, then a week or two weeks in Orlando...or the other way round which ever suits.
Now this all sounds like paradise...which it is...but what does it all cost? and does it fit in to your budget.
To really give you a feel surrounding a Disney cruise, we recommend these links below, with useful information will give you an insight and hopefully answer your questions.

Tips...If we had to make any comments about tipping on board...it would be 'very expensive'
Now don't get us wrong here we always tip when we are out in Orlando and the crew onboard are very helpful...but you will find for each person in your group (7) in our case they ask for a tip for each crew member who looks after you which meant 3 restaurant guys and a cabin steward x7. The tipping bill would have been over $500 dollars for 4 nights.
We'll leave it to your discretion...remember your budgets.
Joining the ship:
After immigration and booking in, your luggage will be taken from you and placed in your cabins and directions to your cabins will be issued.
When you step onto the ship, photographers will take a welcome photo of your party, you can collect these in the evenings during your cruise from the photo shop onboard. (These photos are not cheap so budget to your requirements)
You will also be told about your life boat and fire drills, and what time you have to attend and where to go.
These drills by law have to be done before the ship departs so follow all instructions, this should take you about 20-30 minutes. <--- (I love this photo)
In your cabin are further instructions...Yes we know its like being back at school, but remember you are on a ship...you need to know...these will tell you what restaurant you are dining in for each night onboard and what time you have to sit down.
Each cabin has its own TV, switch it on and the internal ships TV studios will give you a run down on what's happening in and around the ship...take some time to watch this, useful info.
While you are onboard, you can open an account with a credit card to your cabin. All you have to do, is give your cabin number when purchasing goods, photo's drinks etc during your stay.
So...what do you think? Is a Disney cruise for you and your family...we loved it (especially Grandma --->)
We look forward one day to take the 7 night Disney cruise around the Caribbean, calling at places like St Thomas, St Maartin, Grand Cayman, Key West and Cozumal.
Everything is available for you and your family to enjoy...we have only mentioned half of what's on offer to keep all ages entertained, if you have missed this link click now.
